Bernays taught the ignorant cattle to buy shares in an inflated stock market right before the stock market crash of 1929, which was inevitable due to the fact that the economy had become inflated with excess currency due to the demand of credit (free lunches) by the masses. The currency had become debased, so this was a brilliant scheme by Bernays and the bankers to immediately drain excess currency in circulation, but also collect the collateral of the sheeple at the same time. Simply amazing.

It's ironic, but your views are the result of the very propaganda techniques this video series is showing. BTW, Stalin and Idi Amin ruled by fear. Hirohito was a puppet of Tojo and the industrialists. Rush Limbaugh and his better clones follow Bernays' principals fairly closely.

the whole series is excellent, thank you very much for posting. About Bernays i first found out in a very good book, The Threat Against Reason, by Dan Hind

we are all controlled by ourself and our needs and wants

thank you for the explanation. ( first post ), this is what i believe i have missed in my politics class, and argued against Aristotle well. Question now is, how can it be a form of representative democracy if not everyone participates? Like my neigborhood who are poor, no college ed, and works everyday? Lastly, my prof. saved Rousseau the last case of studies - Direct democracy. Do you recall what was the problem against it ?

I'd like to add that people think that our government should be in constant evolution towards some better form of democracy. I don't think so, I think we've already strayed dangerously far from the path that our fore fathers set for us. If we already had freedom where else can we evolve to but less freedom leading to oppression? For me the two major parties are Libertarian & the Constitution party. Your direct representation is your state representative. Vote every two years.

"No one branch contains absolute power, rather, each branch is balanced off of the others creating a system of checks and balances to protect the principals of democracy."library . thinkquest . orgIt's lengthy but it's a better decription then I could do. |
